Managing Director, Mustafa Kazem
Mustafa Kazem is a Managing Director at SEAF and heads fundraising and strategic initiatives for the MENA region. He also manages the company’s impact investment fund in Afghanistan, where he leads origination, structuring, and portfolio management of debt and mezzanine investments.
Since joining SEAF in 2007, Mr. Kazem has raised more than USD 168 Million of capital, and led direct investments into 34 early-stage companies across a number of key industries, including ICT, Industrial & Energy, Consumer & Retail, and Pharmaceuticals. He has also served on SEAF’s Senior Management Committee.
Mr. Kazem has over 12 years of experience in the investment management field, specifically in alternative investments, impact investing, and emerging markets. Prior to joining SEAF, Mr. Kazem was the Chief Financial Officer for a capital leasing company, overseeing risk and financial management, as well as investor relations. He started his career as a consultant with Deloitte’s Emerging Markets Group, working on a number of financial and regulatory compliance projects in Central and Eastern Europe and Russia.
Mr. Kazem holds an Executive MBA from the London Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from George Mason University.
